Dating scan too early
If you want one tell that to your GP and why and say you want a referral.Honestly if they refuse or dismiss your wishes I think that's a pretty good indicator that they're not the best health care provider for you and I would find another more supportive GP.
Especially since I have a retroverted uterus, a heartbeat might be really hard to find until later on.My worst fear is getting to the 12 week scan (which is actually booked for when I am 13 weeks) and hearing them tell me that the sack is empty or no heartbeat :-( If I do want an early scan, what do I ask the GP? I feel weird asking for one when I was already told I was fine and it wasn't necessary. I would tell her that you're very anxious and having a dating scan would ease your mind. They don't have to put anything on the referral other than "dating scan" Padawan, it's your decision whether you have one or not.A British safety blogger has shared a graphic photo of the damage a seatbelt can do in a car accident in a bid to persuade more parents to use rear-facing car seats for as long as possible with their kids.Ultrasound Scan to Date Pregnancy and Estimate Baby’s Due Date Dating scans are the most accurate way of establishing your baby’s due date and finding out how many weeks pregnant you are.First View Imaging offers ultrasound scanning to date your pregnancy from 7 weeks gestation.

Headed to dr tues morning, pretty sure I was miscarrying only to find out that it's quite common for women to bleed/cramp after a transvaginal u/s due to increased blood, potentially a soft cervix. I'm still not sure if I have miscarried or not & am having bloods taken again today to compare Hc G levels. Knowledge is power afterall Thanks for your reply, Xcited Mummy.
That's what my GP said to me - she was adamant that since it's not medically necessary to have a dating scan she wouldn't advise getting one unless you are high-risk, past miscarriage or IVF etc.
I've booked myself in for a dating scan on Friday. With DD2 I had a scan at 7 2 to check I had a viable pregnancy.
And will have a scan with this one just before 8 weeks, again to check its viable.
So here I am patiently waiting for the next 7 weeks to fly by until the first time I see my baby!
